Tungsten formas a solid solution with iron and two intermetallic compounds Fe2W and Fe3W2 or Fe7W6,but neither is stable at high temperature. W70%-85% tungsten iron meiting temperature higher than 25000°C.Iron alloys mainly composed of tungsten and iron. It also contains impurities such as manganese, silicon, carbon, phosphorus, sulfur, copper, and tin, and is an alloying agent for steelmaking. It is mainly used as an alloying agent for tungsten alloy steel(such as high speed steel).  Ferrotungsten also can be applied to welding materials.
