Bronze powder: conductive, corrosion-resistant, wear-resistant

Properties of bronze powder

Bronze powder is an alloy powder composed of copper and tin, often referred to simply as “bronze”. Among alloy powder materials, bronze is a common functional material with excellent machining properties, electrical conductivity and corrosion resistance. The appearance of bronze powder is a gray powder, its particle size is generally between 10 and 50μm, and the density is about 7.8g/cm³.

Physical property

Bronze powder has stable physical properties, excellent electrical conductivity and heat transfer. Its melting point is low, 800 ~ 900℃, with good casting performance and processing performance. In addition, bronze powder has high hardness, good wear resistance and is not easy to be worn.

Chemical properties

Bronze powder has stable chemical properties and strong corrosion resistance. It has good chemical stability to water and air at room temperature and is not easy to be oxidized. At high temperatures, its oxidation resistance and corrosion resistance are even better.

Mechanical properties

Bronze powder has good mechanical properties, and its tensile strength, yield strength and hardness are high. Its wear resistance and fatigue resistance are also good, suitable for the production of various mechanical parts.

Thermal properties

The thermal properties of bronze powder are good, its melting point is low, and the coefficient of thermal expansion is small. At high temperature, its thermal conductivity and thermal stability are good.

The use of bronze powder

Casting material

Bronze powder, as an excellent casting material, is widely used in the manufacture of various castings. Due to its low melting point and good fluidity, it can be easily poured into a variety of complex shapes. Bronze castings have good wear resistance, corrosion resistance and processing properties, and can be used to manufacture parts for machines, automobiles and other fields.

Manufacturing bush

Bronze powder can be used to manufacture bearing bushing, which has high wear resistance and good fatigue resistance, and can withstand high pressure and speed. In the bearing industry, bronze bearing bushing is widely used in various mechanical equipment, which plays a role in protecting the bearing surface and extending the service life of mechanical equipment.

Electrical materials

Bronze powder has good electrical conductivity and corrosion resistance and can be used to make various electrical materials. For example, it can be used to make electrodes, wire insulation and electronic components. In addition, bronze powder can also be used as electroplating materials and resistance materials.

Wear-resistant coating

Bronze powder can be used as a wear-resistant coating material to coat the surface of various mechanical parts. By applying the bronze coating, the wear resistance, corrosion resistance and service life of the parts can be improved. In aerospace, military and other fields, bronze coating is widely used in a variety of high-speed, high-load parts.
