Product Description
Sponge titanium production is the basic link of titanium industry. It is the raw material of titanium material, titanium powder and other titanium components. Titanium sponge is produced by turning ilmenite into titanium tetrachloride and placing it in a sealed stainless steel tank filled with argon gas to react with magnesium. The porous "spongy titanium" cannot be used directly, but must be melted into a liquid in an electric furnace before the ingots can be cast.
