    Product Description

    Silicon boride, also known as silicon hexaboride, is a glossy black-gray powder. Silicon boride is insoluble in water, resistant to oxidation, thermal shock, and chemical attack, and has high strength and stability especially under thermal shock. Silicon boride has excellent thermoelectric properties. As a P-type thermoelectric material to replace boron carbide, its hot end temperature can reach 1200°. And its grinding efficiency is also higher than that of boron carbide.

    Stability related: Does not decompose when used and stored according to specifications. The hardness of silicon boride is between diamond and ruby, it can conduct electricity, and it is insoluble in water. It is heated in chlorine gas and water vapor, and the surface can be oxidized. It can be directly oxidized in boiling nitric acid, unchanged in molten potassium hydroxide, but decomposed in hot concentrated sulfuric acid.
